Virtuoso – Typica Alchemy
Origin: Bruselas, Pitalito, Huila, Colombia
Producer: Finca Nogales
Process: Washed, Extended Fermentation with Thermal Shock
Varietal: Typica
Altitude: 1,900 masl
Tasting Notes: raspberry, citrus, floral, chocolate mousse
This coffee is a snapshot of place, grown at 1,900 masl in the cooler, higher sections of Finca Nogales, where Typica thrives alongside Yellow Bourbon and Geisha. This lot, from the Pulpito section, undergoes an intensive post-harvest protocol involving thermal fusion, yeast-driven fermentation, and slow drying, designed to unlock the coffee’s full potential.
Cherries are selectively picked, pasteurized with 90°C water to release sugars, and then fermented for 7 days with clarified, variety-specific microorganisms. The result is a cup that bursts with tropical fruit character, high sweetness, and evolving complexity.
We’ve roasted it ultra-light to let the nuances shine (rest it for 6 weeks). Expect citrus, raspberry, florals with syrupy texture and layered fruit depth that grows as it cools, and bring a chocolate mousse finish.
